W.D.P.

Welcome! My name is Mrs. Foley. I have been at Pine Road school since 2015. Through those years, I worked in Special Education support, Reading support and now I teach the Wilson Reading program. Some years, I traveled to Murray Avenue to teach Wilson too. This year, I will be at Pine Road only. I obtained my Wilson training certificate in the 2017-2018 school year, with a practicum student here at Pine Road. Your child will be receiving  explicit instruction with decoding and encoding skills, using a systematic approach, 5x a week. I am very passionate about the program, as I have seen first hand, how successful learning, “The Science of Reading” can be for ALL students.  The program is classified under a Tier 3, intensive intervention, for identified children in the learning support classrooms. My goal is to work with you, your child and his/her teachers, to make sure that the Wilson skills are carried throughout their academic day. Another one of my main goals, is  that I truly want your child to develop a strong foundation with reading and writing.. "If you don't like to read, you haven't found the right book." -JK Rowling This quote is true! My version is also, “If you don’t like to read, you have not found the right intervention.”- Mrs. Foley

I get to be that missing puzzle piece for you and your family. Your child WILL be a successful reader and writer with an appropriate intervention like the Wilson program. ❤️ EVERYBODY has a RIGHT  to learn how to read and write! My goal is not for your child to love to read. I want them to know how to do it. Love comes later. ❤️

Mrs. Foley

I have been married for 6 years and I have a  3-year-old son, named Declan. I like to be goofy and I love to explore nature! A fun fact about me is that when I was a student, I did not like to read! So here I am, teaching reading and loving  every minute of it!
