Mrs Jones s Philosophy of Education

Flags: flexpage,

The 2022-2023 school year marks my thirty-first in the Lower Moreland Township School District. During that time, I have been both a first and second grade teacher, with a number of those years spent "looping" between the two. I feel this experience has provided me with great insight, as I know first-hand from where the students are coming, and where they need to go on their journey through second grade. In my class, I believe in teaching the whole child. It is my goal to provide for your child's emotional and social needs, as well as her academic ones. I hold my students to a high standard of academic achievement, but I also guide them in learning how to become a member of a caring and respectful classroom community. Your child will come to school knowing that her classroom is a place where she is a valued member. I believe learning should be an active and fun experience, and therefore, the students in room 32  are always "doing." They are actively engaged--all day--in reading, writing, and thinking critically. I am passionate about teaching, and I enjoy finding new ways to create excitement in the classroom. I aspire to instill a love of learning in every child. I look forward to working with parents, as well. I am a mother myself; I appreciate when a teacher not only knows my child and takes a vested interest in him, but also takes the time to listen and respond to my concerns. Therefore, as your son's or daughter's teacher, I am receptive and responsive to your feedback and concerns. Feel free to contact me at any time.       Subscribe to RSS Feed - Mrs. Jones's Philosophy of Education
