Welcome |
As summer comes to an end, we are about to begin an exciting time. Pine Road Elementary School will once again be filled with smiles, laughter, and learning. It is truly magical to watch a school "come back to life" as the children return.
It is with great excitement that I welcome each of you to a new school year. The Kindergarten team has been working hard to plan exciting and engaging learning activities. We have many events coming up...which you will hear about in the near future. As we move through the year, I want you to know that I value your input. Your child will benefit from a strong home and school connection. This will help him/her to grow - academically, socially, and emotionally. It is essential that we keep an open line of communication. If you ever have questions or concerns, I invite you to reach out to me. We started a new communication tool during the 2021-22 school year called Talking Points. Once you are "connected" to my classroom, this will allow us to send messages to one another through your phone or other device. It automatically translates messages into your chosen language. I found it to be very user-friendly and allowed for easy communication between home and school. Email is another way to get into contact with me. I try to check my email regularly, but please understand that my first responsibility is to be present with your child. I will return your Talking Points message or email as soon as possible. Phone messages are not as reliable or easy to check. However, if there is an emergency - please call the office. IF you need to change your child's home transportation in the middle of the school day, please CALL the office. Do not rely on connecting with me. The office will let me know of the change or you can send me a message after you contact the office. This is especially important if I am not in school and you need to make any changes. A brief note about my class environment. I believe strongly that our classroom needs to become a community of learners. I work very hard to build a room where every child feels valued, safe, and excited about going to school each day. We will work throughout the year to find commonalities with peers and celebrate our differences. This work is necessary to build relationships that help students take the steps needed to grow as Kindergarten learners. Finally, I am honored to be your child's first teacher at Pine Road Elementary School. I look forward to meeting each of you at Kindergarten Orientation! Here's to a year of learning, laughing, and growing.
