IST (Instructional Support Team) is an intensive building-based intervention program using teams of teachers and other school professionals to assist students experiencing difficulty in the classroom. 

The goal of IST is to provide specific interventions that will build skills in a particular area of the child's academic program.  By providing differentiated instruction in the classroom, the likelihood of special education services is reduced. This could include math, reading, writing, organization, study skills, and more. 

IST interventions are put into place in the regular education classroom with the child's teacher.  Most often, these supports go unnoticed by classmates.

Parents are STRONGLY encouraged to be an active part of the team.  The team is not complete without you!
