Mr. Mickle Health and Physical Education TeacherPine Road Elementary SchoolHello,My name is Mr. Mickle. I am one of the Health and Physical Education teachers at Pine Road Elementary School. I am from North Western Pennsylvania. Much of my family lives in NWPA or Central Pennsylvania. I graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2002, and then moved to the Philadelphia area to begin my teaching career with the School District of Philadelphia. I earned my Masters Degree from Gratz College, and have continued my education steadily through my teaching career. I spent two years teaching in north Philadelphia at Wagner Middle School. After that, I was hired by Lower Moreland Township School District to teach at Murray Avenue Middle School. I taught at MAS for six years and then moved to Pine Road Elementary, when Pine Road was expanded to a K-5 school. I have been teaching at Pine Road ever since, and have had so much fun over the years. I am married, and my wife's name is Shannon. She is a laywer, and started her own firm a little over two years ago. I have two children, both girls, named Amelia and Kennedy. They love playing dress up, American Girl dolls, and swimming in our pool. I have a variety of interests, including music, art, woodworking, landscaping, and movies. I love riding my exercise bike and lifting weights. Being from Western PA I have three other passions, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Some of my favorite activities are: basketball, baseball, softball, wiffle ball, kickball, volleyball, and snowball fights. One of my favorite things to do at Pine Road, and at home, is to have indoor snowball fights. We use soft, light weight balls, and have not lost an eye or broken a vase yet!
